The 2009 Toyota Camry is a mid–size sedan from the Toyota stable. Renovated for 2007 model year, Toyota Camry retains its reputation of America's best-selling car. The Camry is a well-equipped sedan offering a new, airy interior, more powerful engines, more transmission choices and increased fuel efficiency. This four-door sedan can accommodate five passengers comfortably, at the same time it's relatively compact and easy to park. It offers a reasonably smooth and quiet ride and can also accelerate with vigor. The Camry is good in nearly every respect and bad in almost none. Power and Performance

The 2009 Camry is available as Hybrid and Non-hybrid models with a number of trims starting from the well-equipped Camry to popularly equipped LE, sporty SE and luxurious XLE. The base Camry is equipped with a standard 2.4-litre engine that develops 158 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 161 pound-feet of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine can be mated to a five-speed manual transmission or an electronically-controlled five-speed automatic.

The LE, SE and XLE trims are available with the 2.4-litre engine or the powerful DOHC, 3.5-litre V-6 engine that generates 268 horsepower at 6,200 rpm, and 248 pound-feet of torque at 4,700 rpm. The V-6 Camry models come equipped exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission that offers a sequential mode for manual shifting when desired.

Body and Styling

The 2009 Toyota Camry is a stylish and comfortable sedan that offers more space in cabin. The cabin materials are solid and serviceable, with soft-touch surfaces. All V6-equipped models come fitted with chrome-tipped dual exhausts. Aerodynamic multi-reflector halogen headlamps with auto on/off feature are standard in Camry, LE and XLE models, while the Camry SE models are offered with Aerodynamic multi-reflector halogen headlamps with blackout sport trim and auto on/off feature. The XLE models equipped with 16-inch 8-spoke alloy wheels, while the Base and LE models have 6-inch steel wheels. The Camry SE offers a broader 17-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels.

Safety Features

All the 2009 Camry models are equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS), which aids steering control during a panic stop. The ABS features brake assist, which applies the brakes more quickly and consistently when it senses the onset of a panic stop. Its electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) balances brake application front and rear for optimal stopping distance. A tire-pressure monitor is standard, while the Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control are optional on the base, LE, SE and XLE models.
